The City of Connellsville is located in the north central section of Fayette County and is approximately four square miles with thirty seven miles of road located within the city limits. The two primary roadways in the city’s downtown area are Crawford Avenue and Pittsburgh Street. State Route 119 also runs through the city. The city business district is located on the east side of Crawford Avenue and Pittsburgh Street. The City of Connellsville has many landmarks including two beautiful parks. The Youghiogheny River and the Great Allegheny Passage Bike Hike Trail are located in the heart of downtown. The new Amtrak station was completed in the summer of 2011.

"Rebirth of a City"
A community effort, overseen through a partnership of the Connellsville Redevelopment Authority and the Fayette County Cultural Trust, is underway to revitalize Downtown Connellsville.
The City of Connellsville, Connellsville Businesses, Individuals, Churches and Social Organizations have offered pledges & donations totaling $125,000 towards this program. See additional information on the donors in the Donor/Donations link. This is truly a grassroots effort by and for the community.
Turn Your Town Around a program of Downtown Connellsville was awarded grants from the Community Foundation of Fayette County and Connellsville Rotary to enhance the appearance of the central business district. Lowe's of Uniontown donated all the flowers and soil to plant the 15 planter baskets. Thank you to the Connellsville Area Garden Club for their help in planting the baskets as well as their donation to help purchase the baskets.Connellsville is a Preserve America Community
